Never really understood why harmonics (touching a string on a fret key) on a guitar rather then pressing a string to the fret board generate a note that sounds better to my idea?  Harmonics any ideas? Hoping someone really knows as it is a great question in my, not often humble, humble opinion

Nice.

I guess some guitars just sound better like Gilmour uses a stratocaster, just got that lovely ring to it when he plays it.

Carlos santana does some fine stuff

I think it's all about your age Pete. As we get older the higher pitch notes become less clear, a pinched harmonic dampens out the higher frequency but leaves the lower harmonic.

When I was younger I always thought such techniques a little droning, now I tend to like it.

Do you play?
